The Minnesota DNR and the U.S. Corps of Engineers completed construction of our marina/refuge, the first on the North Shore of Lake Superior, opening in August of 1999. The marina is owned by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and is managed by the City of Silver Bay. The facility is located on the scenic North Shore of Lake Superior approximately 55 miles northeast of Duluth, Minnesota by boat just off U.S. Highway 61. GPS Coordinates are: Two blocks out- 47.16.00 North by 91.16.00 West, Mouth of harbor is- 47.16.08 North by 91.16.39 West. We are just northeast of East Beaver Bay.
Clean water and quick access to Lake Superior is why boaters of all types prefer Silver Bay Marina. Boats up to 100' can be accommodated on a daily or seasonal basis in one of our 110 spacious slips. Accommodations include water and electrical hookups, sewer pump-outs Valvtect gasoline & diesel sales, spacious private restrooms with showers, and laundry facilities. Boat and trailer dry storage is available, we also offer winter in water storage for boats that are unable to be hauled out.
Please help keep you, and our employees, safe by following the social distancing guidelines currently in place. Only you and immediate family members should be on your boat, face masks are recommended any time you are in public, and keep a distance of 6 feet from all other boaters and staff. Gas and pump out services will be available by calling the office or via radio
